Flames The symbolic campfire is made from 13mm thick mild steel and has it's warm colour from naturally formed 'rust' and is positioned on the women's peace camp commemorative site, at Greenham Common, Berkshire, UK. where women kept warm and prepared food during their 19 years of protest. The Woman's Peace Movement was demanding that the Cruise missile site and air base should be removed and the area returned to common land for peaceful use by the people, aided by the women's efforts it eventually was returned, in 1999/2000. |
